High-Purity Ultrafine Niobium Carbide (NbC) Powder
Niobium carbide (NbC) is a purple-grey transition-metal carbide with a NaCl-type cubic crystal structure. It combines a high melting point (approximately 3,500°C), high hardness, electrical conductivity, thermal-shock resistance, chemical corrosion resistance and strong oxidation resistance. Its balanced thermal and mechanical properties support use in cutting materials and high-temperature systems.
Key Product Advantages
- High melting point and hardness for severe-service material systems
- Good electrical conductivity and thermal-shock resistance
- Strong resistance to chemical corrosion and oxidation
- Fine, controllable particle size with a narrow distribution
- Compatible with carbide, cermet, coating and advanced ceramic processing routes
Typical Chemical Composition
| Grade | C Total (wt.%) | O max (wt.%) | N max (wt.%) | S max (wt.%) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| NbC | 11.0–11.4 | 0.35 | 0.01 | 0.01 |
Typical composition is shown for reference. Customized particle-size and chemistry requirements can be reviewed for qualified projects.
