Product description

High-Purity Ultrafine Molybdenum Carbide (Mo₂C) Powder

Molybdenum carbide (Mo₂C) is a grey transition-metal carbide featuring a high melting point (approximately 2,692°C), high hardness, good thermal stability, mechanical stability and corrosion resistance. In finely controlled powder form, it can be incorporated into cutting materials, coatings and advanced high-temperature formulations.

Key Product Advantages

  • High hardness with good thermal and mechanical stability
  • Useful corrosion resistance for demanding material environments
  • Fine, controllable particle size for consistent formulation and processing
  • Narrow particle-size distribution and controlled impurity levels
  • Applicable to coatings, cutting materials and aerospace material development

Typical Chemical Composition

GradeC Total (wt.%)O max (wt.%)N max (wt.%)S max (wt.%)
Mo₂C5.7–5.80.270.010.02

The listed values are typical product data. Project-specific specifications are subject to technical review and order confirmation.

Particle Size & Customization

Particle-size requirements can be reviewed according to the intended dispersion, coating, forming or sintering route. Please include the desired particle size, purity and end-use conditions in your inquiry.

Typical Applications

  • Cutting tools and wear-resistant material systems
  • Functional and protective coating materials
  • Aerospace and high-temperature material development
  • Carbide-reinforced composites and specialty powder metallurgy
  • Research and development of advanced ceramic formulations

Manufacturing & Quality Capability
